Johanna Klareina, is a classic Dutch ‘day' barge, built in 1906 and complete with original log book. The barge has been lovingly converted into a stunning and ready to cruise live aboard residence, located in the prime mooring spot overlooking the River Deben and the shores in front of the National Trust's Sutton Hoo.
Finished in floor to ceiling teak and brass, the barge has a stunning interior including a modern shower room with decent ceiling height, a modern galley kitchen and a store-space ideal for a conversion for a fore-cabin.
Originally converted in the 1970s and tax exempt, over the past 10 years the current owner has employed professional shipwrights to renovate the barge to include modern central heating in every room, boiler-heated high-pressure water, all new fittings, appliances, electrics and insulation. All furniture is bespoke and fitted.
Johanna Klareina has an excellent 175 marine-ised DAF engine and it is advised can cruise comfortably at 8-9knots. For navigation, the owner has added a chat plotter, depth sounder, a second, modern VHF radio and bow thruster. The boat is small enough to fit into every canal in Europe and about half of the UK canals.
Mooring costs are just £3k/annum (approx) including Mooring, Wifi, Water/sewage, electricity and diesel, on an annual licence basis. For more information please speak to the agent. Both the owner and the quay owner are readily available to respond to any questions or queries.
